By now it seems to be common knowledge in the Danish anime/manga subculture that something was not handled quite professionally at this year's cosplay contest at J-popcon.

As the runner-up to the qualification prize, some people seem to have jumped to the conclusion that we have somehow been behind orchestrating drama and spreading rumours.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

We have chosen to take a subdued approach to this situation. For the good of the future of Danish cosplay, we believe that there needs to be as little conflict as possible. But for the same reason, we feel that certain rules and guidelines of the Danish WCS-qualification need to be augmented.

This is our major goal at the moment.

As far as other people's reactions go, we cannot control them, nor do we wish to. It is not our role as friends, acquaintainces or indeed total strangers to place undue censorship on other people's right to speak their minds. Nor do we feel that it is our responsibility.

It saddens us that what should be an entertaining and joyous hobby for all of us, should bring up a situation like this. Indeed it is only a hobby, but it is one which means a great deal to many of us. To the extent that we spend long nights, probably too much money and accidentally attach ourselves to parts of our costumes to achieve our goals.

We know that many of you will agree with us, when we claim that it is worth it in the end.

It is our hope that we can all work together to keep it this way.
